VocalEssence Targets New and Old Audiences with Social

Social is here to stay, and it’s an exciting time for any organization. Now, anyone can use the power of social  to not only engage its current base, but use it to position themselves for growth, on top of reinforcing its brand voice.

So, it’s a great time for small business. Now that you have the tool to potentially speak with millions, the age old strategic questions remain: who do target, what media do we use, and what do we say? That’s where Curly can help.

Curly worked with VocalEssence to address these and many other questions as it unveiled a series of social campaigns for its season of concerts, and community outreach programs. For its efforts targeting older adults and emerging families, the media of choice was Facebook with a few targeted Twitter campaigns.

Take a look at a few of the campaigns VocalEssence used throughout its previous season.

MOMS TAKE LOTS OF PHOTOS, AND CAMERAS LOVE CUTE KIDS
For their emerging family and mothers demographic, Curly defined a new campaign that targeted a behavior its base already does naturally: taking photos of their children at their annual family concert. The #cutekid campaign incentivized attendees to use their photos to promote VocalEssence in tandem.

THE POWER OF NOSTALGIA
To organize and mobilize their active community base on Social, Curly defined a nostalgia-based campaign with photo submissions of its chorus and community members. These photos were placed into a graphic promoting “There Was a Child,” which opened its 45th Season.

LIVENING UP A DEAD MAN
To liven up a very dead composer and to target its younger and potential new members from college partner choirs, Curly created a meme for “Tchaikovsky for Voices.” Giving the students and the community the power to create humorous messages with the face of their beloved composer. It also served as the face of the events surrounding Tchaikovsky, including its young professional happy hour.
